Meet our veterinarians:
Dr. Stephen Liston graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1986. After practicing as a solo veterinarian in northern Ontario, treating large and small animals, he moved to the Kanata area in 1987. Since that time, Dr. Liston has been providing veterinary services to the pet owners of Kanata and surrounding area. Dr. Liston's other hobbies include hiking, adventure travel and viticulture.
Dr. Julie Levesque graduated from the University of Montreal's Faculté de médecine vétérinaire in 2011. She has been practicing in Ottawa since then and has been at the Liston Animal Hospital since 2015. She likes to spend her free time horseback riding, rollerblading or spending time at home with her toddler and furry friends.
Dr. Savannah Beattie (locum) originally from Ottawa, graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2005 and has been practicing in the area since then. Her professional interests include : senior health care, parasitology, public health and internal medicine. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, camping and sharing a good book with her senior cat Ivy.
Meet our registered veterinary
technicians, assistant and receptionist:
Kaitlyn Krzyzanowski graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at St-Lawrence College in 2012 and is a Registered Veterinary Technician with the OAVT. Her special interests include animal dentistry and radiology. She lives with her two furbabies, Navi and Zou, who are always ready for a lazy day in the sun. Outside of work Kaitlyn enjoys archery, board games, reading and rollerblading.
Pam Houwing is the clinics longest employed registered veterinary technician. Pam has worked with Dr. Liston for the past 30 years. She has a special interest in veterinary cytology (the microscopic examination of tissue and fluid samples). In her spare time, Pam is an avid horse enthusiast.
Dave Mockett has been working in area veterinary clinics for over 20 years. He fills many roles within Liston Animal Hospital, from reception, to veterinary assistant and inventory ordering. Dave enjoys movies and comic books when not busy cleaning up or running after his boston terrier Magnus.
Rebecca Nandlal is a graduate of the veterinary assistant course at St. Lawrence College in 2009. She has been our head receptionist since 2011. She currently has 3 dogs and shares her home with several cats as well. When not working or walking the dogs, she enjoys traveling, HIIT and going out with friends.
Meet our clinic RFF (resident feline fiend):
Chippy McNish has been with the hospital almost since the day it opened. Chippy got his name from a famous cat that traveled to the Antarctic with Ernest Shackelton. He likes to spend his day greeting everyone at the reception desk. Other activities include sleeping in the sun, eating lunch and casually letting dogs get a chance to meet a cat that does not run off while being sniffed. A work of caution though, he does not take kindly to being poked, prodded, brushed, pet too vigorously or anything Dave is up to...
